The Council has established its own training infrastructure comprising Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management, Pune at National level, 5 Regional Institutes of Cooperative Management at Bangalore, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Kalyani, Patna and 14 Institutes of Cooperative Management at Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Kannur, Lucknow, Madurai, Nagpur, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram. The Council provides academic support to Junior Cooperative Training Centres numbering around 109 being run by State Cooperative Unions in the country. The management of the Council comprises of two levels i.e. (a) Corporate Level (b) Institute Level

1. Headquarter Level

At the Corporate Level, the President of NCUI is ex-officio Chairman of the NCCT and Chief Executive of NCUI is the ex-officio Director General and Executive Vice-Chairman of the Council. The Secretary is the Chief Executive and Member-convenor of the Council. The NCCT, which is constituted by NCUI in consultation with Government of India is represented by Government of India, National Cooperative Federations, State Governments, State Cooperative Unions, NABARD and Management Experts.


At the Institute Level, Management Committee in respect of each institute is constituted by the NCCT. These committees are responsible for looking after the management of the institutes under their jurisdiction. The Management Committee of the National Institute is constituted by the Government of India under the Chairmanship of Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation. The Chairman of the State Cooperative Union is generally nominated as Chairman of the Management Committee of the Institutes of Cooperative Management. Each Institute of Cooperative Management has Programme Advisory Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Registrar, Chief Executives of State Cooperative Federations, Heads of other concerned department of the State Government and representatives of Local University/Management Institutes are members of this Committee. The Annual Training programme of each institute is finalized in consultation with Programme Advisory Committee.

NCCT is taking up programmes for senior level executives through VAMNICOM, Pune and intermediate and junior level executives and members of cooperatives through 19 RICMs/ICMs.
